About Mike

An award-winning animation producer and director, Mike has been a fixture in the Canadian animation community for almost 30 years.

He pioneered creator-driven and storyboard-driven kids’ shows in the late 90’s on productions like the cult favourite, Untalkative Bunny, and made his mark in web-based series and shorts for the likes of College Humor and Smosh a decade later. Mike currently operates a boutique studio, Go Lucky, out of Ottawa.

Mike also got to be the guy who brought the Canadian cult classic comic book to animated life, producing and directing the animated Captain Canuck webseries.

He is an in-demand production and development consultant, focusing primarily on micro-budget features and short films, a respected speaker and guest lecturer, a committed educator, having taught at Algonquin College, Sheridan, and Seneca College, and finally, as the founder and publisher of Canadian Animation Resources/Cartoon North he has spent 14 years advocating and community-building in the Canadian animation landscape.
